"large but mainstream" brings what changes next?
by agent zero inin some other threads there has been talk of wether the organization will go large and mainstream or small and hard-core in the upcoming years.. in the past few years, the sunday public talk has been shortened, the bookstudy eliminated (at least as a seperate meeting night), #2 talks are down to a simple read-through, and a little longer ago pioneering hour requirements have been shortened.
personally i would take these as signs of them going more soft and keeping a larger membership.. if this is indeed the case, what would you suspect of being cut off or changed next?.

i must have been dozing off during the part in question, but after the sessions someone told me that in the question and answer segment with the speaker from bethel, they said that there have been anointed ones all throughout history, and that in the new world their names will be read from a list.

I must have been dozing off during the part in question, but after the sessions someone told me that in the question and answer segment with the speaker from bethel, they said that there have been anointed ones all throughout history, and that in the new world their names will be read from a list. apparently the "back-up" for this is that we know the names of the apostles that were anointed and they can serve as an example, so the same is true of them.. or something to that effect, the rest of the explanation (from the person telling me) was drowned out by "isn't that amazing!" and "and he said it's for sure, not even maybe!".. and i stopped listening. did anyone hear that too, or know more about it?

I wouldnt mind slowly revealing myself to members of this board, but for sure there are many more visitors reading than just those posting, and it's those i worry about. I dont want to be known by ones where i don't know they know about me. that being said, i would love to know about any here that are from my area and are still 'in', so as to meet or talk in person; to have someone other than on the internet to express my honest thoughts to.

'Great Crowd' of 12 people get baptised at District Convention!!!
by burnedout inyesterday, out of 4,035 people in attendance at the dc, only 12 people were baptized.
that is one more than eleventeen and one less than a baker's dozen.. .
want to take a guess as to the age group of this 'great crowd?

JWs live in willfull ignorance
by brotherdan inwatch this video and notice how the jw does not want someone to show him anything in the bible that is contrary to what he already believes...whether the trinity doctrine is correct or not is no my issue with this video.
the person recording asks directly, "would you be willing to let me show you where jesus is called jehovah or almighty god in the bible?
" the jw says, "no, that would just cause me to doubt my beliefs.

was actually at the convention for this one. in the wt summary it was covered using the explanations from the paragraph itself. i'm sure the vast majority was not paying enough attention to listen to what they're hearing, others dont see why it matters and the rest think it's wonderful new light.

yeah, i thought so too, this way there's a great number of congregations where no one like us can offer thought provoking comments or even just observe the reaction to the rediculous ones. toobad though, for once i was actually looking forward to going to the meeting, i even considered going to a morning AND afternoon one
